Hi, everyone! I’m Mowgli! I’m an active, 9-year-old guy.
I’m a very well-trained hound. I’m good at obeying the “leave it” command, along with many other basic ones. I’m sweet, loving and easygoing. I love people of all ages, other dogs and even cats.
I like my walks and walk very well on a leash. I also like riding in cars. And my foster mom says I must be very smart because I learned how to use the doggie door in just a few minutes. Yeah, I’m house-trained too!
If I’m lucky enough to have a canine companion, I like to be fed first. If not, I might try to steal from other dogs. But I never get aggressive about it. I have very good manners because I’ve always been a house hound, although sometimes I like to hang out outside and soak up the sun.
Even though in the past I’ve been home alone a lot, I never got in trouble. I didn’t get many walks either, and my owner decided I deserved better.
I’m looking for a forever home with some nice people and maybe another dog for a companion. Does that sound like your family? If so, I would love to meet you and I can’t wait to see what’s ahead!
I’m neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped. My adoption fee is $250.
Mowgli’s foster says: “My favorite thing about Mowgli is his demeanor. He is so sweet and gentle. … It’s so cute when he sits by me, rests his chin on my leg and just looks up at me. And in the morning when he sees I’m waking up, he comes to the side of the bed and just puts his nose on my arm to say ‘good morning.’ … Mowgli’s favorite snack is absolutely anything you give him! … He just wants to be with people all the time. At night we sit on the sofa in front of the fire and he tries to get up to sit with me. He does this little jumping thing with his back legs until I get up and help him onto the sofa the rest of the way. … Also, he sort of mumbles and grumbles real low a lot. It’s cute. It’s like his form of talking without opening his mouth.”
