Nos amis Charlie and Percy held this spot for just a few days before they were adopted.  We were so inspired by their quick adoption that we lobbied (howled) for our placement as ze new hounds of the month.  We are hoping for ze same wonderful fate!

Your first step is to complete and submit the adoption application prior to the June 1st deadline.  This gives our home visit coordinators time to schedule your visit prior to the day of the Spring Games.  Once your application and visit are approved, our adoption coordinators will work with you on the perfect adoptable hound for your family.  All of our adoptable hounds will be at the Spring Games. For those who have completed all steps and have met the love of their life, those hounds can go home with you that day at a $50 discount off our regular adoption rates.

Barbie was nominated because she has given so much of herself to the hounds and to BHRSC over the years. Barbie, a long time volunteer and former BOD member, is responsible for our hot line. Barbie and her husband are great supporters of BHRSC. She works every year soliciting unprecedented donations for the Doo Dah Parade and helps support BHRSC Spring Games.  You will often see Barbie and her adopted hounds at Brunch With Bassets walking around welcoming people.

Thank you Barbie for taking the time to help and love our hounds squeezing in all of it, while working more than full time!  Your dedication is so very appreciated!

Registered hounds will be competing in basset-specific events such as longest ears, marathon napping and hound dog howl off and will wow onlookers with their agility, relay skills, ability to grab a treat out of the air and their fabulous costumes.

Raffles, food, a vendor village and more are available for you to take advantage of in between naps and events!  And make sure to visit our adoptable hounds – adoption fees will be discounted $50 for pre-approved families!
